A copy of Cook's chart and view of his first sighting of Japan, published by Alexander Hogg. The view at top shows a high mountain, here ‘The Hill'. Map soundings of ‘no ground', and dates of track from October 24, to November 2, 1779. Nice dark impression on clean paper with full margins.Image measures 11 1/4" x 8 3/4".
